HumilityTo preface this story,
my first job,
at the age of 15,
was at a department store
in New London, Connecticut
which is a ghetto.
Saturday’s I worked 9 in the morning
to 9 at night.
At exactly 8 AM I would take my antidepressant, and
at exactly 8 PM I would go to the break room
and get the vacuum cleaner
anything was better then standing at a cash register
for 12 hours;
and at 8:40
I would collect the shopping carts in the parking lot
and return them inside the store.
I woke up on June 12th, 2010
3 days after my 16th birthday.
at 8:40 AM.
It took 15 minutes to get to work
and I liked to arrive 5 minutes early
so I forgot to take my pills that day.
I stood at the cash register
like any other day
for my 12 hour shift.
At 8 PM I got the vacuum cleaner
and at 8:40 I went to the parking lot
to collect the shopping carts.
My camaro was the only car left in the parking lot
and as I walked towards it to warm the engine,
